Ribbons and Straw

For DPW's Aftermath Challenge,
we are to paint what happens to the holiday wrapping and ribbons etc.
We save thin ribbons, string, etc. to put out in spring  for the birds
to use in building their nests.
When winter comes, and the trees are bare
and the limbs are frosted with snow,
they reveal the abandoned nests,
woven with brightly colored Christmas ribbons
among the grasses and straw.

5" x 7" acrylic on canvas panel

$50. includes shipping (US)

  1. Jean - a wonderful story! I'd love to see those nests, with their highlights of color, in the bare winter trees.

  2. Wonderful idea Jean. I am sure the birds like to decorate up thier "homes" also.
