Summer's Bounty

So many flowers in the garden this time of year,
that I couldn't decide which to cut for painting,
so I brought in a variety of colors, scents and sizes.

Bright, Sunshiney Day

The early morning sun shines bright and golden,
scattering specks of pink light,
as it rises behind the lush green of summers foliage.

She sold flowers at the local street market,
that she grew with her Mother in their little backyard garden.

Wildlife and Wildflowers

I am trying out my new pochade box (top) made by a Montana artist and woodworker.
I used it to paint the watercolor of sweetpeas (below).
These are a few photos of the wonderful wildflowers that grow in the alpine meadows.
I was able to capture a few shots of a grizzly bear digging for eats,
and female elk herd lounging at sunset.
Although I also saw foxes and a moose, couldn't get pictures of them.

Wild Sweetpeas

Watercolor and Pen and Ink sketch
of a pretty  little creek where I was camping.
Bright pink, white and pale pink wild sweetpeas
grew along its rocky banks.
I painted this on watercolor paper
and sent it as a card to my mom.
