Vintage Camping

When traveling,  I sometimes see and admire,

(and secretly covet), these vintage travel trailers.

I have often thought of finding one, and fixing it up

to use on my road trips. Maybe someday....

Camping

Painted this - en plein air - from the perspective of my campsite.
I liked the little teardrop camping trailer,
but I was particularly drawn to the little campfires
scattered throughout the campground in evening.
Although you can't see the people,
each fire belonged to a family or couple
enjoying the warmth and light.
The smell of wood smoke and outdoor cooking
mingled with the forest scents.
(note: the sky is darker in the painting,
and the scene looks a bit more like night
than the photograph depicts.)

6" x 8" oil on canvas panel
