Autumn Mist 2

Another painting of the foggy mist from the river,
but this time the temperature had dropped during the night
and the trees still had a dusting of frost on them from the mist

Autumn River Mist

In fall, we get fog along the river
and it moves as mist through the trees on the farm,
creating a lovely scene with the fall colors softened in the distance.

Mysterious

Painted this en plein air at a lake where I camped late this summer.
Added a few finishing touches in the studio.
The trees were already showing some fall colors.
Across the lake, they seemed to float in and out of the mist
arising from the water in the early morning.
The sky was cloudy and overcast
which gave the whole scene a somewhat ethereal look.

Morning Song

Sometimes, when the sun is just beginning to ascend,
it begins as a reddish orb that gradually becomes a butter yellow.
The sky reflects the golden glow, setting tree tops alight,
and clouds and mist revealing various shades of purples.
You can almost hear the earth singing to the new day.
