Cape Blanco Lighthouse

Fall looks differently depending on where the location is.
Here on the Oregon coast at Cape Blanco lighthouse,
fall is windy, and often stormy.

Another painting for DPW's Fall color challenge.
These little crocus had started to come up beneath an Oak tree in the front yard.

Rising Squall

Along the coast - especially during the winter,
sudden storms come up, with winds, waves and clouds.
Then, just as suddenly they can disappear.

Blue Lady Pansy

Pansies are one of my favorite garden flowers.
They will grow in extreme temperatures and last a long time.
This pretty lady and her companions,
graced the deck out side my studio window for many months.

Wetlands

Painted for Dana Marie's Artistic Sentiments water lily pond challenge.
Her photos are always lovely and challenging.
But I did take the liberty to crop her photo.

Rocky Mt. High

Painted for Barb's Studio Atelier RMNP Challenge.
I love the Rocky Mt's. from Colorado to Montana, and into Canada.
They are awesome with their tall jagged peaks,
many still covered with patches of snow and glaciers all year round.
The lower elevations are often filled with evergreens
which unfortunately are being destroyed by bark beetles.
(hence the purple and orangish colors in the trees).

A Day at the Beach

I believe the Oregon Coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
So I would like to share it with you. Enjoy!

Window Shopping in the French Quarter

Painted for Bill Guffey's Virtual Paintout New Orleans challenge.

I liked this view of a couple tentatively peering into a shop door,
curious but not quite sure if they want to enter.
It was dark inside and looked very much like a Santeria or Voodoo Shop,
so maybe that was why they were both curious and hesitant.
