Bridge Over Multnomah Falls

Painted this from one of my many photos
of beautiful and spectacular Multnomah Falls.
It was hard to choose an angle and how much to include,
as these falls are three levels each with it's own pool at the base,
and fall over 300' total. I decided on this perspective
because I wanted to show all three levels of the falls
and the old and lovely bridge which spans the second pool.
The falls is spectacular in any season. I chose late summer/early fall.
The rocks and foliage surrounding the falls
 presents from a misty atmosphere
which creates a fairyland like image.

Falls in Fall

Hiking the local trails
with my "en plein air" kit in a backpack,
 I came across these waterfalls
cascading down the mountain side filled from the recent fall rains.
I loved the pops of autumn gold from the maple trees
that dot the landscape
and are just beginning to turn their rich fall colors.
