Ginger's Garden

This is another painting I did while traveling this summer.
Don't know the name of them, but the lovely pink flowers
were a frequent sight in the beautiful gardens in Anacortes, WA.

The Blue Bicycle

I saw this quaint little scene while traveling this summer in Northern WA.
I stopped and painted a quick plein air sketch. I think these little
scenes are gifts from the muses.

Chickadee in Apple Tree

Much of my summer travels was in the state of Washington
where they have many apple orchards.
This painting is a homage to the many yummy apples
I sampled while motoring and painting plein air.

The Garden Walk

Painted this when I was in Anacortes, WA.
There were so many beautiful flowers,
everywhere it seemed, people had lavish gardens.

San Juans Sunset

The sunsets can be amazing here in the San Juan Islands.
The coastal fog appears as a purple layer
over the bright reds and golds of the setting sun.

Here in Anacortes, WA, there are many vintage seaside cottages
which have gardens, with a profusion of colorful flowers,
especially these tall lovely Hollyhocks.

Tranquil Morning

A transparent winged dragonfly sits on a 

windswept vine of delicate blossoms, 

against a golden-pink sunrise.

Painted for Dana Marie's Rendition Me This 

Tranquil Journey challenge.

I am enjoying her challenges because they push me

 in a different direction in my painting,

one that I find very interesting.

I also entered this painting in DPW's "Insect" challenge.

I was surprised and happy to see the theme fit this work,

as I haven't had much time to paint since I am leaving soon

on an extended road trip (see post below).

Road Trip    

I will be going on an extended road trip through the western US, to take photos, painting plein air, and just visiting wonderful places. I will be taking my laptop with me, so that I can post; and check my blog and email occasionally -  whenever I am in a hotspot.
